Why is Vitamin D3 important?

Vitamin D3 plays an important role in many functions throughout the body. It helps to:

  • Support healthy bones and teeth by helping the body absorb calcium and phosphorus.
  • Maintain normal muscle function and support muscle strength.
  • Support the nervous system and normal communication between the nerves and muscles.
  • Support healthy immune function by helping immune cells respond appropriately.
  • Support normal cell division and the healthy functioning of cells.

Low vitamin D levels may contribute to weak bones, muscle pain, weakness and an increased risk of fractures. Research is also exploring the relationship between vitamin D levels and blood pressure, blood-sugar regulation, respiratory health and immunity; however, vitamin D supplements should not be used to treat these conditions unless recommended by a healthcare professional.

Indications:

  • Enhances calcium and phosphorus absorption, contributing to normal blood calcium levels.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of strong bones and teeth.
  • Maintenance of normal muscle function.
  • Supports a healthy immune function.
  • Supports cardiovascular health.
  • Improved glucose metabolism.
  • Plays a role in the process of cell division.

Note: It is highly recommended that serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D and calcium levels are monitored before, and every 90 days while supplementing with high levels of Vitamin D, to ensure levels remain in an acceptable range. Why is Vitamin D3 important?
